Prof. Hussaini Isa Marte

Born in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, northeastern Nigeria, he had his elementary education at Yerwa Central Primary School Maiduguri, and thereafter attended Yerwa Government Secondary School Maiduguri, where he obtained the West African School Certificate in 1975.

Hussaini has a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He obtained a master’s degree in Pharmacology from Chelsea College, University of London in 1983, after having earlier completed the compulsory one year National Youth Service at the General Hospital Kontogora, Niger State in 1981.

He received his doctorate degree (PhD) in Pharmacology from King’s College, London, in 1987 and in 1997, he received an MBA from Averett University, a private non-profit college in Danville, south-central Virginia, USA.

As an international scholar and researcher, he was invited to join the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine as a research associate In the Department of Pathology. He served in that capacity for two years before he was appointed  in 1995 ad professor of research. After serving for five years in that capacity, he was appointed as visiting professor, Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy, ABU Zaria.

In 2010, Hussaini relocated to Nigeria as Dean of Pharmacy and Professor of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Maiduguri, a position he held till 2014. A year before in, 2013, he had been elected as Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science, as well as visiting professor at the Department of Pathology, University of Virginia. In November 2015, he became a Fellow of the Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy NAPharm.

Dr. Babagana Mallambe Mustapha

Dr Babagana Mallambe Mustapha was born in the year 1966 at Borno State. Growing up in Borno State and attaining an education up to the level where he went for his Masters program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bayero University, Kano in the year 1995.

. He has a PhD in Electrical Engineering and specializing in Control Systems from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi in the year 2004.

Dr Babagana was a senior lecturer in the department of Electrical and Electronic of University of Maiduguri, an Assistant Director at the Frequency Coordination and Liaison Service of Spectrum Management Department in the Federal Ministry of Communications.

He served as Head of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, served in Committees responsible for the creation of Department of Chemical and Computer Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and various other Committees.

He is presently a visiting senior lecturer at the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna Niger State and Nigerian Turkish Nile University (NTNU).

He is currently serving as the Honorable Commissioner for Higher Education/Science, Technology & Innovation in Borno State.

Executive Secretary

Alh. Usman Adamu

Born on the 25th of April, 1969, Usman Adamu is a dedicated academic with over 30 years of working and leadership experience. He has an ability to creatively evaluate data to properly manage and resolve crises.

Coming from Chibok local government of Borno State, he obtained his first school leaving certificate from Chibok Central Primary School. He advanced his education by proceeding to Damboa where he attended Government Secondary School and obtained his WAEC certificate in 1985. He has a degree in Public Administration, a diploma in the same course as well as a Masters Degree.

He has held several notable positions which include; clerical assistant at the University of Maiduguri Health Services Centre, Executive Officer at the Student Affairs Division of the University, Secretary to the Head of Department of Political Science and Public Administration Department. Usman was made the Senior Administrative Officer at the Office of the Vice Chancellor where he served for 5 years before becoming the Assistant Registrar. He supervised and coordinated the administrative and secretarial work at the office of the Vice Chancellor. A year later, he then became the Students’ Relations Officer (SRO) which made him take charge of the office of the Dean of Student Affairs.

Usman possesses the following professional qualifications; Fellow, Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management (FIPDM), Fellow, Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science (FIDMSS) as well as being a member of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA). Living with his family in the Maiduguri metropolis, Usman is currently the Ag. Executive Secretary of the Borno State Scholarship Board and at the same time, the senior advisor to the Governor on Ministry for Higher Education.
